Silicon Labs' CP210x VCP driver is needed in order for WeatherSnoop 3 to connect with Davis weather stations using the WeatherLink USB data logger. Unfortunately, Silicon Labs' latest release of their driver package doesn't install on Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard. They have, however, provided us with an earlier version of the driver that does install properly (attached to this message). If you have an older PowerPC Mac running 10.5.8, you can install this driver and use WeatherSnoop 3 to connect to your Davis weather station and WeatherLink USB data logger.

Will this older driver work on an Intel based Mac running OSX 10.6.8... the driver (on disk) that came with the data logger for Davis Vantage Pro 2 works with Weatherlink on my computer, but I'm not getting the weather station to communicate with Weathersnoop...

Have you tried downloading the current driver for Snow Leopard form their website? It should work fine. This particular driver was posted just for users of 10.5.8, specifically PowerPC-based Mac users.
